A craftsman's forge for London's buildings

London Forge is led by a craftsman with 20 years at the anvil. His work ranges from hotel entrance balustrades with gilded leaves to forged chandeliers for family homes and restaurant ceilings and lighting.

Why we started London Forge

London has some of the finest ironwork in the world: Georgian area railings, Regency balconies, Victorian gates and grand stair halls. A great deal of what is installed today, though, is fabricated from straight bar and catalogue castings, quick to make and quick to look tired.

We set up London Forge to offer the alternative: ironwork designed for the building it belongs to, forged by hand in our own workshop, and installed by a team that cares how the last fixing looks. Our craftsman has spent 20 years learning the trade properly, from drawing out a scroll to raising a leaf, and every piece we make draws on that.

We focus on bespoke commissions, so each one gets the attention it needs. Our clients are homeowners restoring period houses, interior designers and architects specifying statement pieces, and hotels, restaurants and bars that want their entrance or staircase to be remembered.

  • Made at the anvil

Scrolls, leaves, collars and finials are shaped hot by hand, not bought in and welded on.

  • Designed for the building

Patterns are proportioned to the architecture, whether we adapt one from the album or draw it new.

  • One team throughout

The people who survey and design your piece are the people who make sure it is installed properly.
